Our mission
go2tool.com builds free, fast tools for everyday tasks for people in the United States: calculators, official price data and quick answers. Every tool shows how it works and where its numbers come from. If a page would not be useful without ads, we don’t publish it.
How we create content
- Accountable authorship. Articles are published under a named author or the go2tool.com Editorial Team. We do not use fake personas or invented credentials. Names in worked examples are illustrations and are labeled as such.
- Primary sources. We check facts like laws, rates, prices and program rules against primary sources (government agencies, official program pages, company terms) and link to them.
- Original examples. We work through numbers ourselves, and our calculators show their formulas so you can check the math.
- Review. Guides that involve rules, rates or eligibility are reviewed by a second editor before publishing. When an article has been reviewed, we show who reviewed it.
- Use of AI tools. We use AI-assisted software for research support, drafting help, spelling and grammar. A human editor checks every fact against its source, edits the text and approves it before it is published, and is responsible for its accuracy. AI is never used as a source of data: the numbers on our price and statistics pages come directly from official government releases.
Data and automatic updates
Price and statistics pages (gas, electricity, groceries, inflation) use official U.S. government data from the Energy Information Administration and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. They are checked and updated automatically; every update must pass consistency checks, and anything unusual is held for an editor to review before it appears. Each page names its source and the period the data covers.
Trending and news explainers
When we explain a developing story, we clearly label what is confirmed (verified by an official source), what is reported (published by named news outlets but not officially confirmed), what is unconfirmed or speculation, and what is our analysis or opinion. We do not publish rumors as facts, and we update or label stories as new information arrives.
Keeping content up to date
We review our guides on a regular schedule and when rules, rates or prices change. The “Updated” date on an article reflects a meaningful content update, not a cosmetic edit.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly. Significant corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with the date and what changed. To report an error, use our contact form and choose “Report a correction.”
Independence from advertisers
Our editorial team decides what we cover and what we recommend. Advertisers and affiliate partners do not review content before publication and cannot pay for favorable coverage. Sponsored content, when we publish it, is clearly labeled “Sponsored.” See our advertising disclosure and affiliate disclosure.
Not personal advice
Our content is for general information and education. It is not personal financial, tax, investment or legal advice. For decisions about your specific situation, consider speaking with a qualified professional.
