How to use this calculator
Pick your date of birth. Leave the second date blank to get your age today, or choose any other date to see how old you were or will be then: on a retirement date, a deadline or a milestone birthday.
Example
Someone born on March 15, 1990 is 36 years, 6 months and 23 days old on October 8, 2026. That is 13,356 days.
How the count works
Age is counted in whole calendar years, then whole months, then the remaining days, the same way people count age in everyday life. Leap years are included because the calculator counts real calendar days. If you were born on February 29, your birthday is treated as March 1 in years without a February 29.
What year was I born if I am…?
Subtract your age from the current year. If your birthday has not happened yet this year, subtract one more. For example, someone who is 18 in October 2026 was born in 2008 if they have already had their birthday this year, or in 2007 if not.
How old will I be in a future year?
Subtract your birth year from the future year. That is your age after your birthday that year; before it, you are one year younger. Someone born in 1998 turns 32 in 2030. For an exact answer on a specific date, enter it as the second date above.
Need an exact age for something official, like benefits, insurance or school enrollment? Check the rule of the organization asking, since some count age differently.
